EUROPEAN HEALTH INSURANCE CARD (EHIC)

Holders of the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), E111 or equivalent can avail of healthcare through the public system during a temporary stay in Ireland.

To receive prescription medicines under this scheme you will need to visit a GP in the public system (PCRS doctor). The G.P.  will use a special prescription form to indicate to the pharmacist that the medicine is to be provided free of charge.
